Woohoo!!! Down ten pounds! 1.8 lbs since yesterday. Granted, five of that was all the food I ate last weekend, but still!! The gym parking lot was so packed last night that I gave up and went home and went for a 1 mile run with my husband instead. 9:38, which is a good time for me! Took a BCAA pill afterwards otherwise I get sore for days and my legs take forever to recover. I was so slow on the first half, which is uphill, but we flew through the second half. I actually kind of miss running more than 1 mile, but I feel like 1 mile is a good distance when fasting. Long walks are nice, too. I've been sleeping better than expected. Maybe your body eventually gets used to longer fasts and starts sleeping better? Not sure, but I hope that is the case. Long day at work coming up today, but going to have a chill weekend.

Today's challenge is going to be that I am going to a political MeetUp tonight, and there is specifically going to be vegan food (I guess the organizer is also vegan) and it kills me to not eat vegan food at events because it's so rare that it's available (other than stuff like chips/salsa). Anyway, I will have my excuse prepared and whip it out as necessary to explain why I am not eating and drinking. I am kind of bummed, to be honest, though, because I've been looking forward to this meeting half just for the food! And since this will be a new group of people (who I am excited to form some friendships with), I feel like not participating in the eating/drinking will make me weird/stand out, but oh well. What can you do. My goals are more important.

Happy Day 5 to everyone who is still participating! I absolutely love having this site to come to each day. Super grateful for everyone's positivity and the community we are building here.

Down 1.2 lbs since yesterday. Felt too weak to run or workout when I got home from work, maybe from the hard run on D2. My legs just felt heavy, and my body didn't want to move fast. Instead I did some stretching and drank ginger tea, and watched Dr. Who, played Magic, and enjoyed some time with my husband.

Just a quick post today. Somewhat hungry (normal for me on D4), but dealing with it, and cold of course. Slept better than I expected, but we vaped some MJ before bedtime, so perhaps that helped. Going to do some light weightlifting tonight. Wishing I was a little further along towards my goal of 140 by EOM, but regards, I am feeling so close to my goal weight, and I know that just a few more weeks of EFs with some re-feeding days mixed in will get me there! Today one of my coworkers said "You are SO SKINNY" and that made me feel awesome. She is trying to lose weight and I told her I've been doing IF (didn't talk about long fasts). She was intrigued, and said she had heard that IF is healthy. It's always nice when the actual good diet ideas (like "sometimes, don't eat for a while") pick up steam.

So yeah, that was the water weight/food weight going bye-bye. I figure today and tomorrow I'll drop another 2-3 lbs going into ketosis, and then I'll start actually counting the weight loss as real fat loss once I am down to my previous fasted low-weight of 145 from last week. My September goal was to get to 140 by September 30th, and I'm not sure I'll get there, but I think I'll get pretty close.

Yesterday was a breeze. Day 1 is easy for me. Days 2-4 I am usually a bit hungry. I have learned to just shift my focus to "What can I drink?" instead of my typical "What can I eat?" I have a lot of different flavors of tea and bubbly waters at my office, so I just go to town on liquid, calorie-free flavors all day. Slept in a bit today, but I'll be going for a 1 mile run this evening, and doing body weight exercises (squats, jump squats, lunges, sit-ups, pushups). Feeling good about the next 8 days!

Last night, I had about 1/4 teaspoon of XCT oil when I took my multi-vitamin, because I realized that I may have been getting Vitamin K deficient from doing back-to-back extended fasts. I started bruising really easily, which is an early sign of K deficiency, since K is important for clotting. I always take a multi-vitamin when I fast, but I had (stupidly) forgotten that A, D, E, and K were probably not being absorbed much without any fat since they are fat soluble. So I had about 30 calories worth of fat with my vitamin, which might not be enough for max absorption, but should certainly make a big difference. I plan to repeat that each day that I fast. I don't think that 30 calories will have a negative impact on anything (autophagy, hunger, ketosis, weight loss, etc.). Curious if anyone else is taking a little oil with a multi-vitamin while fasting to increase absorption. If this was a stand-alone fast, I wouldn't bother, but I am basically always either in EF or IF mode, and plan to be until I finish losing weight.

Haaaa I did it. We are so in, this time! Today is day 2. Got all of today also scheduled out of the house. Still no dead kittens breath, but I expect that will come shortly. Gave myself an enema before sleep last night, ugh the smell.

Oddly, I feel like there currently is food in my stomach. As though I'm bloated after a heavy meal. Hope this feeling goes away soon, I hate it.

Today's stats:
Weight - 145.4 (-1.2kg from yesterday)
Glucose - 130 (not sure why this jumped so dramatically after a 24 hour fast)
BP - 144/78
HB - 89

Chest - 122 cm (-1 from yesterday)
Waist - 112 cm (checked several times... Apparently I lot 4 cm's overnight there. This is so weird. I was hoping for 1, not expecting 4 in a day)
Hips - 136 cm (this is +3 to yesterday... I guess I measured in another place, but I couldn't find a spot that was close to yesterday's measurement. Very weird. Have paid more attention so next time I stick to the same spot).

It was a rough night, with the effects of the magnesium flush. I woke up at 10:30 today, which is about four hours later than usual, but it's fine... Changed the plans for today up a bit, but I'll be out of the house most of the day.

Starting stats:
Weight - 146.5 kg
Glucose - 100
BP - 141/87
HR - 89
neck - 44
chest - 123
waist - 116
hips - 133
bicep - 48
wrist - 20
thigh - 85
shin - 56
ankle - 31

I'll be monitoring chest/waist/hips daily, the rest weekly. Measurements are in cm. Good luck to me.

So after a few bumps and burps on the road, alongside a first period in 6 months, I finally started my fast. Took a bunch of magnesium to do a flush and I'm waiting for the effects to start as I type this. Stats and measurements will be tomorrow. For now, I started this at about 18:00, and I've got an entire day planned out of the house tomorrow so I won't be anywhere near food at my usual breaking point, which is sometimes around 15:00.

Mostly, I'm just tired right now, with 0 energy. I'm suspecting part of this is a depression flare, which will probably remain present until I find a new job.

Don't like counting hours, but half a day doesn't really feel fast-ish to me, so I tagged today as day 0.

Good luck to me.

Deleted my previous post by accident >.>

So today is day 1 of my mostly water fast. Today's unlimited coffee day, and on day 2 it becomes water-only. I'm pro-enema while water fasting, and I'll be using these too as per need.

My aim is to go a minimum of 7 days, but ideally I'd like to hit that 40-60 day mark. Not going to stress is though, aiming for 7 days and then taking it on a day per day basis.

Goals: letting my body reset in the hopes it deals better with PCOS symptoms, weight loss, blood glucose and pressure need to go down into normal range. Hopefully, by the end of the fast I'll be able to drop the bp meds I'm on.

Things I'm taking: birth control pill, blood pressure meds, vitamin D. I'll be dropping the iron during the fast since it requires food for digestion.

Starting stats:
Weight - 147kg
Fasting glucose - 122
Blood pressure (I'm on meds) - 140/92
Heart rate - 90

I'll add measurements tomorrow.
