Started Tuesday, 4/17/2018 - 235.4 lbs.


I have been wanting to do this for so long. Hitting my "__" birthday on April 7th made ME commit to starting this.  I don't want to spend another year looking this way; hating to get dressed in the morning; feeling like everyone is looking at my size constantly, hearing some ugly remarks from my husband every now and then.  Even though I know it is true.  Fat is not pretty.  It was making me feel to tired to walk outside at lunchtime, making me stay in and spend less time going to events. I have been on every diet known to man and women.  Could not seem to get past 10 lbs.  So time for a change and what better time than the Spring!


So Day 1 which was a work day I was surprised that I did not get hungry.  I was so busy that I just kept drinking my water and hot green tea.  When my lunch hour came I just spent the time reading sites on fasting and some ebooks to keep my mind occupied.


Wednesday, April 18, 2018 - 233 lbs.


It was nice to see some water loss in lbs.  Always a motivator.  My husband woke up not feeling well and we ended up going to the ER at 1:30 AM, his pressure was high, it was more anxiety than anything else. Got home at 4:00 AM.  Tried to sleep but he snored for the next 2 hours.  When I woke up I weighed myself and noticed a couple of pounds down so that was enough to keep me motivated.  Usually I would have been stressed out and would eat something fattening to get through the feelings of being stressed.  But for some reason I had a hot cup of green tea and packed my water thermos for work.  Had another busy day and my energy was great all day, I even worked an hour of overtime.  But at about 6:00 p.m. I felt myself getting really tired and on the drive home I was feeling weak.  I kept sipping on water and told myself that I better go to bed the moment I get in the house.  That is what I did.  I slept about 10 hours.  I think going to the ER zonked me out.


Thursday, April 19, 2018 - 230 lbs.


Slept like a log.  Felt calm when I woke up.  I find I have more time in the mornings since I don't have to cook breakfast.  Had a great day at work.  I brought my keto stix in and I was in small ketosis at noon which is usually my lunch time.  I was so excited to see this.  By 2:00 PM the keto stix read 4.0 moderate so I was starting to burn fat today.  So excited!!  Drank my water all day wih a cup of green tea here and there.  Did some reading about coconut oil.  Adding a teaspoon to your tea to burn more fat.  I figure I am burning fat on my own just staying on course.  Glad to have a site like this one to be able to journal what I am doing without a lot of negativity about fasting. Fasting is so awesome.  So glad that I am strong enough to do this. Came home and the family had pizza.  Thank God they ate before I got home.  There was no temptation.  Oh and did I  mention my office had a meeting this afternoon and they set out cookies, brownies, sodas, spring water bottles. So glad I saw my ketosis reading.  It kept me motivated.

 

Spent some time reading up on what to do when I am finished fasting.  I hope to make it 30 days but I will take it one day at a time.  My first goal was to try for one week and see how I feel.  I have a lot of weight to lose, 100 lbs.  I figure I should weigh about 135 lbs. I have read where people lose 30 to 50 lbs. in 30 days.  I have not had any bad reactions so far (knock on wood).  I have never been sickly, just obese.  Which in itself is a sickness.  Well off to read more on healthy ways to eat after long fasts.  I can't believe it is almost 8:00 PM and I am not hungry.  WOW!


Friday, April 20, 2018 - 229.6 lbs.


Crazy busy day at work.  Made it through drinking, water, green tea all day. I find myself working through lunch having so much energy.


Broke the fast and ate the dinner my daughter made of salmon cake, some tuna, red wine.  I figured from this point on I will start Intermittent fasting or OMAD (one meal a day).  Now that I have taught myself control over food, I will continue on with fasting during the day and eating a meal at night.


The water fast has really changed the way I think of eating. I have lost some weight, gained strength in my approach to food.  Slept well. Had many dreams.


Saturday, April 21, 2018 - 229.2 lbs.


Woke up feeling good. Did a keto stix check and I am still showing pink (small). Which means I am still burning fat.  So made a grocery list today of everything you could think of that goes in to salads. I googled salads and saw so many beautiful ones that I made a healthier list.  I put brussel sprouts, broccoli, spring mix salad, beets, sweet potatoes, blueberries, strawberries, etc.


So I will fast now with a 22:2 hour window. Which is fasting 22 hours out of the day and allow myself a window of 2 hour eating.  It may end up being 1 hour.


I know on my job this coming week is Staff Week which means each day they have some type of junk food day going on.  I feel that I will be able to keep up with my fasting during work hours.  It helps me to save money too.  When they have their events during the day I will go outside for a walk and get some sun.  Planning ahead for things that pop up.
